Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026.
The short version
LUMEN is built to respect your privacy. In its default static form it runs almost entirely in your own browser. We do not sell your data, run advertising trackers, or load third-party analytics or fonts.
What's stored, and where
- In your browser only (localStorage): your comfort settings (tint, theme, font), your cart, forum identity, any account you create, private messages, and aggregate view counts. This data stays on your device and is not sent to us in the default build.
- Accounts & passwords: if you create an account, your chosen name and a hashed password are stored locally in this build. This local mode is not a secure authentication system; a production deployment uses a proper backend (e.g. Supabase Auth) that stores credentials securely on a server.
Analytics
We measure only aggregate, non-identifying activity — for example, how many times a page or article has been viewed. We do not track individuals, build profiles, fingerprint devices, or record IP addresses for analytics in the default build.
Third-party services you choose to use
If you use features that connect to outside services — the donation button (Buy Me a Coffee), a newsletter signup, or checkout (Stripe/PayPal/Shopify) — those services have their own privacy policies and receive whatever information you provide to them directly (e.g. your email or payment details). We never see your full payment card details.
Cookies
The default site does not set advertising or tracking cookies. Browser localStorage (used for the settings above) is not shared across sites.
Your control
You can clear all locally stored data at any time by clearing your browser's site data for this site, or via the Reset options in the Comfort panel and admin tools. Doing so removes your settings, account, cart and messages from this device.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be noted by the "last updated" date above.
